How long does it take to grow mushrooms with your kits?
Oyster kits typically fruit in 2-3 weeks. Lion’s Mane kits take 3-4 weeks. Both produce 2-3 harvests (flushes) over 4-10 weeks.
Do I need any special equipment?
No β our grow kits include everything you need. Just add water (a spray bottle is included) and place the kit in a spot with indirect light.
How many harvests will I get?
Typically 2-3 flushes per kit. The first flush is usually the largest. Total yield can reach 1-2 lbs of fresh mushrooms.
What temperature should I keep my kit at?
Between 65-75Β°F is ideal. Avoid direct sunlight, heating vents, or drafty windows.
My kit isn’t fruiting β what should I do?
Make sure you’re misting 2-3 times daily and keeping the kit in indirect light. If it’s been 3+ weeks with no activity, contact us within 14 days β we’ll replace it.
How long does grain spawn last?
Use pre-sterilized grain bags within 2-3 months of purchase. Store at room temperature in a clean, dark place before inoculation.
Do you ship to Alaska or Hawaii?
No β we currently ship to the continental United States only.
Is local pickup available?
Yes! Local pickup is available at our Englewood, CO warehouse (360 Inverness Dr S, 80112). Select “Local Pickup” at checkout and we’ll coordinate a time.
What’s your return policy?
Equipment can be returned within 30 days in original condition. Live cultures, grow kits, and substrates are non-returnable due to their biological nature. Damaged items are replaced within 48 hours β email hello@flyingmushroom.com.
Are your classes suitable for complete beginners?
Absolutely β they’re designed for first-timers. No experience needed. We cap classes at 6 students so everyone gets hands-on attention.
Can I cancel a class booking?
Yes β full refund if cancelled up to 48 hours before the workshop. You can reschedule anytime with 24 hours notice.
Where does your rye grain come from?
Our rye is sourced from Curve Feed in Lakewood, Colorado (6750 W Mississippi Ave). It’s the same grain we use for our own cultivation.
